What does Lesscue actually do?+
Lesscue is an iPhone app in development for pausing selected apps during focus sessions and recurring routines. Save reusable app groups, choose essentials in Always Allowed, enter the full-screen Glass Wings timer and review usage separately from your recorded sessions. The screens on this website are illustrations, not working device controls.
Can I block Instagram, TikTok or YouTube?+
The design uses Apple’s Screen Time app picker to choose installed apps for a saved group. Choose the group for a timed session or a recurring routine. Blocking an app does not automatically block every way of reaching the same service in a browser.
What is the difference between a routine and a session?+
A routine gives a saved group recurring start and finish times on selected days. A focus session gives that group a duration for the task you are doing now. They can overlap. Ending a session does not switch off a routine that is still active.
Can my essential apps stay available?+
Yes, by choosing them in Always Allowed. Those choices take priority across Lesscue’s groups and routines. The initial selection is yours to make; Phone, Maps and Messages shown here are examples. Lesscue cannot override restrictions from iOS, a managed device or another app.
Can I switch tabs during focus?+
The active session stays in its dedicated Glass Wings scene until it ends. Home, Block and Insights are unavailable during that session. A limited Settings sheet lets you review protection and sensory controls, then returns you to the same timer. Ordinary early ending follows your selected mode; Locked has no ordinary early ending. Switching away from the app does not end the session.
Is this the same as iPhone Focus mode?+
Apple’s Focus modes manage which notifications can reach you. Lesscue’s Focus tab is a timed session for selected app boundaries. There is no promised automatic link between the two.
Can I see my focus outside the app?+
Pro includes Home Screen widgets with a local focus summary and a Live Activity for the current timer on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, where supported. You add widgets and control Live Activities in your settings. They open Lesscue; ending protection and Emergency access stay inside the app. iOS manages display and refresh timing. These features are implemented in the development app, with final on-device validation underway.
Do I need to sign in?+
The core local focus and blocking experience is designed to work without signing in. An optional Cloudflare account service is being prepared with Sign in with Apple. It handles authentication, not your app records. The Account page shows whether sign-in has been activated.
Where are my records stored?+
App groups, routines, preferences and focus history are local by default. Optional Pro-only iCloud sync is off by default. After you review and connect, selected records are stored in your private Apple iCloud database. App-selection tokens, raw Screen Time usage and active blocking state stay on the device. Cloudflare account authentication uses separate minimal server data and does not receive personal records. Apple-managed device backups, Screen Time sharing and purchases follow your Apple settings; the Privacy Policy explains that boundary.
What if an app stays blocked or a permission changes?+
Check for an overlapping routine first, then open Permissions & Recovery in the app’s settings. An unresolved state is shown for you to review. A reset that cannot finish its clean-up remains pending so you can resume it. The blocking help explains what to check.
Does focused time mean time saved?+
A focus record measures the time that elapsed in a session. It does not prove continuous concentration or minutes removed from your screen time. Usage reports and focus history have separate views, and planned minutes are not counted as completed minutes.
What happens if I delete my account or reset the app?+
Account deletion removes the account’s authentication information after fresh Apple verification and grant revocation, subject to the limited retention in the Privacy Policy. It does not erase local app records, delete your optional iCloud copy or cancel an Apple subscription. Local reset, iCloud data controls and Apple subscription management are separate. Signing in to a Lesscue account cannot restore personal records.
When can I download Lesscue, and what will it cost?+
Lesscue is being built for iPhone. There is no public App Store download or release date yet. Free includes the core focus experience. The pricing page outlines Pro and planned USD early-access rates, including the introductory period and regular renewal. Any purchase will show the actual local price and period in Apple’s purchase flow before you confirm. This website does not sell a subscription.
