Lesscue is in development. Product-specific examples describe the current design and website screens, which use illustrative data and do not block real apps.

Choose the moment before choosing the restriction

Start with the part of the day when opening Instagram gets in the way. It might be the first hour at your desk, a study session or the time after you get into bed. Give that moment a start and a finish you can explain.

A recurring workday boundary and a one-off writing session are different choices. Use a schedule for the period you want repeated, and a focus session for the task you are beginning now. You do not have to use the same duration for both.

Put Instagram in a reusable group

In the Lesscue design, open Block, create an app group and use Apple's picker to choose Instagram. Give the group a name that makes its purpose clear, such as Social media. Read the complete selection before saving; a group can contain more than the app that prompted you to create it.

Choose that group when preparing a focus session or schedule. The group defines the apps, while the session or schedule defines when the boundary applies. Keep those decisions separate so changing a future routine is understandable.

Decide what happens to direct messages

Think about any conversation you need to continue during the protected period. Pausing the Instagram app also affects your access to the conversations inside it. Always Allowed is an app-level exception in this design; it does not separate Instagram messages from its feed.

If a necessary conversation lives there, choose another way to reach that person, move the boundary to a suitable time or leave Instagram available for that session. The setup should reflect the work you actually need the phone to do.

Check the browser route separately

Selecting Instagram does not mean that Instagram's website has automatically been restricted. The website, another browser and the app are different access routes. A useful setup review checks the route you use rather than assuming one selection covers everything.

To include browser access, select the relevant website domain separately in the same Lesscue group where Apple's picker makes it available. Website coverage depends on the browser and still requires signed-iPhone verification. Lesscue does not filter individual Instagram features or automatically block every associated domain.

Know how the period ends

A focus session has its own ending control and confirmation. The session stays in its dedicated Glass Wings scene until it ends. An active recurring schedule can keep Instagram paused even after the session ends.

If access is different from what you expected, look for overlapping schedules before changing more settings. The blocking help gives the next checks, and the groups guide explains how exceptions work.
