Lesscue is in development. Product-specific examples describe the current design and website screens, which use illustrative data and do not block real apps.

A plan is a promise about the future

When you choose 50 minutes, you are setting aside a possible period. You have not yet spent those minutes. A report that immediately treats the chosen duration as completed focus would blur planning and recording.

Keep the two questions separate: “What did I intend to do?” and “How much of the session actually elapsed?” You can learn something from either answer without pretending they are the same number.

Walk through an early finish

Suppose you plan a 50-minute session and end it after 12 minutes and 40 seconds. Lesscue’s current prototype records 12 full minutes. It does not record the original 50, and it does not round the elapsed period up to 13.

If you end before the first full minute, the local record shows zero full minutes. That choice keeps the unit consistent. It does not mean nothing happened in those seconds or that the task was worthless.

One session, one focus scene

Lesscue keeps an active session in its dedicated Glass Wings scene until it ends. The tab bar and ordinary routes to Home, Block and Insights are unavailable during that session. A limited Settings sheet lets you review protection and sensory controls, then return to the same timer.

Switching away from the app does not end the session. Reopening Lesscue returns to the active focus scene with its original finish time. Ordinary early ending follows the mode you selected; Locked protection has no ordinary early ending.

Do not turn a session record into proof of attention

Elapsed time says that the timer ran. It does not observe the quality of your work or prove that every second was concentrated. A session could include useful work on the phone, work elsewhere or a pause in activity.

For your own review, a short note about the task or the reason you stopped may be more informative than treating the duration as a score. You can keep that note outside the app; it does not depend on a promised product feature.

Inspect a report before trusting a headline

  1. Check whether the number is planned, elapsed, completed or estimated.
  2. Look for the unit and rounding rule.
  3. Find out how early endings and an expired timer are recorded.
  4. Keep device usage totals separate from session records.

Lesscue’s design labels sample reports and keeps local session records distinct. The native app is in development. The measurement behavior described here is a design decision you can explore, not an audited productivity metric or a claim that the browser can observe your attention.
