Lesscue is in development. Product-specific examples describe the current design and website screens, which use illustrative data and do not block real apps.

Choose a boundary you can describe

An evening setup does not need to begin with a large promise about sleep or self-discipline. Start with a simpler intention: “After this time, I do not want to open these feeds.” Choose the time based on your evening, not a number borrowed from someone else’s routine.

Write down what you would prefer to do in that period. It could be finishing a book, preparing for tomorrow or talking with someone. The boundary then has a practical purpose beyond lowering a number on a report.

Make the overnight end explicit

A window from 23:00 to 07:00 crosses midnight. The end belongs to the following day, not to an earlier moment on the same date. Check that the interface communicates this clearly before enabling a repeating schedule.

Lesscue’s sample Before bed card explicitly shows the next-day end. Home surfaces that schedule as the next boundary, and the Block editor keeps the start, end, days and selected group together. Those design choices are illustrated in the product screens.

Keep the useful parts of the phone

List what the evening may still require: a call, a route, a booking, an alarm-related action or a message. Then decide which apps belong in a separate exception list. Avoid making the blocked group and the allowed group two versions of the same unclear list.

Also consider the first part of the next morning. If you need a travel ticket or a work authentication app before the scheduled boundary ends, account for that in the setup rather than discovering it while leaving the house.

Prepare a place for the next action

Put the book where you will sit, write tomorrow’s first task or choose where the phone will rest. These are practical adjustments you can try alongside an app boundary. They are suggestions for arranging a routine, not claims that a particular placement will improve sleep.

Try one evening before repeating the window across the week. Notice whether the chosen time is realistic and whether the exception list is sufficient. Change the start time or a specific app choice instead of treating an awkward first attempt as a verdict on the whole idea.

Keep system sleep settings separate

Apple’s Focus settings manage notifications and related device behavior; its Focus guide explains those options. A notification setup and an app-availability boundary answer different questions. Know which one you are configuring.

Lesscue remains in development. Its evening schedule is an illustrative setup; it does not apply a live restriction to your phone. You can use the preview to examine the overnight wording and editing flow, then use currently available controls if you want to put a boundary into practice today.
