The practical answer
A bedtime boundary controls access to selected apps; the wake-up alarm remains a separate iPhone setting. Keep Clock and essential contact tools available, inspect the next-day end and test the alarm itself. Do not use a focus-session completion or an overnight shield as evidence that your wake-up alarm is correctly configured.
A setup to try
- Set and test the intended alarm in Clock, including its sound and volume, before reviewing the app boundary.
- Preserve Clock and necessary contacts, then select the apps that usually extend your evening browsing.
- Choose the nights on which the routine begins and check the next-day end against your morning plans.
Will Do Not Disturb stop my iPhone alarm from sounding?
Apple states that Clock alarms still sound with Do Not Disturb or Silent mode on. That is separate from Lesscue’s application boundary. Check the alarm’s actual time, sound and volume, and keep Clock available so you can inspect the configuration before the overnight period.
Does Lesscue create my morning alarm when I set an overnight routine?
No. A routine is an app-protection window, not a wake-up alarm. Set the alarm separately in Clock and verify it there. The routine’s displayed morning end tells you when that boundary is planned to finish; it does not establish that an audible alarm exists.
Should Clock be Always Allowed?
Use an explicit Clock exception if you want it available across all Lesscue groups, or leave it out of the particular bedtime group. Review any broad category selections as well. The aim is to preserve the tool you actually use, not to infer its status from the word bedtime.
How do I keep messages from one important person available at night?
Keep the necessary messaging or phone application available, then configure person-specific notification behavior in iPhone settings where appropriate. Lesscue does not shield individual conversations. App access and which person may interrupt you are separate decisions that should both fit the night you are planning.
Can I use a bedtime boundary while listening to an audiobook?
Keep the audiobook application available and test your actual playback setup before starting. Do not select the whole entertainment category without checking what it includes. Lesscue does not classify a book as restful or guarantee how another app handles playback in the background.
What if I wake before the routine’s planned end?
The active window remains governed by its selected ending mode. If early waking is common, choose an end time and mode that fit that pattern. A routine should reflect the access you regularly need rather than require a special release every time an ordinary morning starts early.
Will a phone boundary show whether my sleep improved?
No. A protection window is not a sleep measurement. You can notice whether the planned evening behavior became easier, but do not convert protected hours into sleep duration or a health outcome. Keep sleep tracking and any health-related questions separate from Lesscue’s session records.
Should I keep the timer screen lit while I fall asleep?
You do not need to keep watching the scene to make the boundary meaningful. Set up the intended protection and place the phone as you normally would for the night. The visual design is a focus surface, not a requirement to keep the display active throughout an overnight routine.
How do I handle an earlier alarm on one weekday?
Review that morning’s required access and the overnight routine that starts the previous evening. With Pro, use a separate definition if the pattern repeats; otherwise adjust the future window before it starts. Remember that an overnight repeat day belongs to the night’s beginning.
What is a useful first bedtime test?
Use a short Confirm window before the actual bedtime and check Clock, contacts and any audio tool you intend to keep. Then inspect the full overnight summary. This verifies the selection while you are able to correct it, instead of discovering a missing essential at the end of a long night.
