The practical answer
Lesscue can have a manually started focus session and recurring protection active at the same time. Each run keeps its own selection, end and ending mode. When changing access affects several runs, the strongest affected mode applies; ending one run does not automatically erase the others.
A setup to try
- Before starting, inspect current protection as well as the group and duration on the focus preparation screen.
- Avoid unnecessary overlapping definitions when one clear window would express the same intention.
- When an app remains unavailable, identify which current run still includes it and review that run’s end and mode.
Why is Instagram still blocked after my focus timer finishes?
A recurring routine or another current boundary may still include Instagram. The timer’s completion ends that focus run, not every independent protection window. Review the current protection state and each remaining end time before concluding that the completed timer failed to release its own selection.
Can Confirm to end override a Locked routine running underneath it?
No. A flexible focus session does not weaken a separate Locked occurrence. An action that changes access must respect the strongest affected active mode. Review overlapping protection before starting so the release behavior is clear rather than surprising at the end of the shorter session.
What happens when two routines contain the same application?
The application can remain protected while either applicable run still covers it. Each occurrence has its own planned end and snapshot. If you want a genuine open period between windows, check all definitions rather than changing just the card that happens to be easiest to see.
Should I merge two routines with identical apps and adjacent times?
Consider one clear window if there is no intended gap or change of mode. Separate definitions are useful when the purpose, apps or access requirements differ. Fewer overlapping rules can make the actual status easier to explain and reduce the work needed to diagnose an unexpected boundary.
Will editing a group update every currently active routine that uses it?
No. Saved group edits prepare future starts; current runs retain the snapshot they started with. That protects the meaning of a commitment already in progress. Review the active selection separately from the saved group if the two appear different after an edit.
Can I remove a shared app through Always Allowed while one run is Locked?
An exception that relaxes a current Locked boundary cannot serve as an ordinary bypass. Lesscue applies the relevant release policy to weakening changes. Plan shared essentials before the overlapping windows begin rather than using a global exception as a way around a stricter active run.
Does Emergency access end only the Locked timer I was viewing?
The defined Emergency release clears current Lesscue protection, including overlapping current windows, and pauses automatic routine starts until explicit Resume. It is not a narrow app exception or a five-minute break. Review that broader effect before beginning the five-second hold.
After Emergency access, do overlapping routines restart immediately?
They remain paused until you explicitly resume protection. Resume is a reviewed transition for future starts; it does not quietly reconstruct the old focus run or re-enter the same skipped current routine window. Check the resulting next-start state rather than assuming the previous overlap has resumed.
Can I tell which routine is responsible from the app’s shield alone?
A shield is a limited system surface, so use Lesscue’s current protection details to inspect the relevant runs and their end times. Do not expect a blocked application to show the entire schedule model. The diagnosis belongs in the app’s status and routine views.
What is a good first overlap test before a busy week?
Use short Confirm windows with one shared app and one app unique to each group. Observe what remains protected after the first window ends, then compare it with the intended schedule. Test the logic with simple selections before adding several work and evening definitions.
