The practical answer
Lesscue keeps personal records on the iPhone by default. Optional Pro iCloud sync moves an explicit subset to your private Apple CloudKit database only after you enable it. Cloudflare handles the website and separate account authentication; it is not the destination for your focus history or app-selection tokens.
A setup to try
- Start with the default you want: local-only records or optional Pro iCloud sync. A subscription purchase or Apple sign-in should not be treated as consent to upload personal records.
- Review the exact iCloud data list before enabling sync. App-selection tokens, Always Allowed selections, raw Screen Time usage, and active protection are excluded from that list.
- Treat website analytics separately from the app. The public website’s consent choices do not authorize uploading your iPhone focus history to an analytics service.
- Review Apple’s device-backup settings if your requirement concerns every copy of phone data. Device backup and Lesscue’s own optional sync are different mechanisms.
Are my focus records uploaded to Cloudflare when I sign in?
No. Lesscue’s account service handles identity separately from personal app records. Signing in is not a request to upload your focus history, groups, or raw Screen Time data to Cloudflare. Optional Pro iCloud sync has its own review and enablement step inside the app.
Does buying Pro automatically turn on iCloud sync?
No. Pro makes the feature available, but synchronization remains off until you review the connection and explicitly enable it. You can use Pro’s other features while keeping personal records local. A successful Apple purchase is not the same action as consenting to a data transfer.
Is Lesscue using Supabase for my screen-time history?
No. The current architecture does not use Supabase. Personal records are local by default, with selected optional synchronization through Apple’s private CloudKit database. The Cloudflare account database serves a different purpose and should not be described as a backup of your screen-time history.
Does Lesscue use RevenueCat to decide whether I am Pro?
The current implementation uses StoreKit 2 and Apple-verified subscription information directly; it does not include RevenueCat. That purchase entitlement is separate from your focus records. A feature can check a locally observed entitlement without sending your session history to a subscription vendor.
Can Lesscue’s website analytics read the apps I blocked on my iPhone?
The website’s analytics setup is separate from the native app’s local records. Lesscue does not upload selected-app tokens or focus history to website analytics. Review the website cookie choices for web browsing data, and the app privacy controls for your on-device information.
Does local by default mean iOS can never include app data in a backup?
No. Lesscue’s explicit sync feature and Apple’s device-backup behavior are different. If your requirement is that no backup copy exists, inspect your iPhone’s backup settings as well. Do not read a local-default product setting as a guarantee about every operating-system backup mechanism.
Does private CloudKit mean Lesscue can promise end-to-end encryption for every field?
The product describes the actual storage boundary: your private Apple CloudKit database. It should not add an unverified end-to-end-encryption promise. Review Apple’s applicable iCloud security information and your settings if encryption properties are essential to your choice of data storage.
Are Emergency reasons or personal explanations stored on a server?
Lesscue does not ask you to write an emergency narrative for release. Its local allowance record is minimal and is not included in the optional iCloud sync list. A confirmed use is recorded for the rolling allowance without turning a private situation into a server-side story.
Can I use local focus features without creating a Lesscue account?
The account is optional and separate from local focus and protection. Necessary Screen Time authorization still applies to blocking, and Pro features depend on Apple subscription entitlement. Choosing not to sign in should not be confused with declining the iOS permission needed for protection.
What should I read if I want the exact data and provider breakdown?
Use the Privacy Policy alongside the in-app iCloud review, because each answers a different level of detail. The policy explains service providers and data roles; the connection screen explains the selected records eligible for sync. Neither should imply that raw Screen Time goes to Cloudflare.
