Lesscue is in development. Product-specific guidance describes the current native development build. Public App Store availability has not been announced. Website screens use illustrative data.

The practical answer

Preserve the music, workout and contact tools you actually use, then select the optional feeds that interrupt the activity. Lesscue does not turn a focus session into an exercise measurement or control another app’s audio behavior. Prepare the selection before starting the activity rather than adjusting it repeatedly during a workout.

A setup to try

  1. Choose the playlist, lesson or workout before the session and identify the app that plays it.
  2. Keep audio, exercise tracking and necessary contacts available while selecting unrelated scrolling apps.
  3. Check playback and access in a short session, then review the setup after the activity if something essential was missing.

Can I keep Spotify playing while social apps are blocked?

Keep Spotify outside the selected application group or preserve it through an intentional Always Allowed exception. Test the actual playback setup before beginning. Lesscue does not promise to manage streaming, downloads or background playback inside another application; it controls the selected access boundary.

What if my workout video is inside YouTube?

Keeping YouTube available also leaves its other features available; Lesscue does not isolate the workout video from Shorts or recommendations. Prepare the exact video first and use a separate period for the activity. If you block the whole app, do not expect the workout to be exempt automatically.

Should I block the entire entertainment category during exercise?

Only after reviewing what the category includes and what you need. Music or audio tools may be part of the activity rather than a distraction. A short, specific app list can be easier to understand than a broad selection that requires several exceptions to make the workout possible.

Can Lesscue start a session automatically when my workout starts?

The current app does not promise a workout-triggered integration. Start the session deliberately or use a time-based routine that matches a stable plan. A fitness app recording an activity does not by itself tell Lesscue to begin a matching focus period.

Will a completed focus timer count as exercise minutes?

No. The session is a Lesscue time record, not a fitness measurement. It does not establish movement, intensity, distance or calories. Keep activity tracking in the tool designed for it, and use the boundary to support the activity you chose.

Can I keep an emergency contact route available on a long walk?

Preserve the applications and communication route you actually use before starting, and review notification behavior separately. A local app exception is not a guarantee of signal or delivery. Choose a mode and duration that fit the practical needs of the route and the people expecting to reach you.

How do I stop opening feeds every time I change a song?

Prepare a playlist or queue in advance, preserve the audio app and select the feeds you tend to open during that interaction. The aim is to reduce the optional branch after choosing music. A boundary cannot decide which song changes were necessary, so keep the setup simple.

Can I block social apps without blocking my gym check-in app?

Yes, review the gym application, payment or access-code route and leave those tools available. Test the actual check-in before committing to a long period. The useful selection protects the activity while preserving the practical steps needed to enter and use the space.

Should I use Locked for a workout whose length changes?

Use a mode that fits the uncertainty. Confirm may be simpler while you learn the duration and required tools; Locked is for a reviewed window with no ordinary early ending. A more restrictive mode is not automatically a better match for an activity with variable logistics.

Can Insights tell me how far I walked instead of scrolling?

A hypothetical walking opportunity is not a measurement of distance travelled. Actual walking depends on whether you walked, for how long and at what pace. Keep that distinction clear when reviewing time-value illustrations, and use an activity tool if measured distance is what you want.
