The practical answer

An exam-week plan needs more than one long timer. Separate reading, practice, lectures and logistics, then choose the apps required for each. Use recurring boundaries for stable study windows and manually reviewed sessions for changing tasks. Lesscue records sessions; it does not measure learning or guarantee exam performance.

A setup to try

  1. List the next concrete study outputs, such as one practice paper or a chapter summary, alongside the apps each requires.
  2. Choose a small reusable distraction group and preserve class contact, notes and authentication tools.
  3. Review the next day’s windows each evening, using Confirm while the workflow is still changing and Locked only for a well-defined prepared period.

How should I set up my phone for a two-hour practice paper?

Prepare the paper, calculator and any permitted reference tools before starting, then select the applications that are not part of the task. Match the session to the actual practice period. Check the required tools in a short session first rather than discovering a missing resource halfway through Locked.

Can I leave a class group chat available without allowing every social app?

Yes, preserve the application that carries the necessary class messages while selecting unrelated social apps. If the same application also carries distracting chats, Lesscue does not split those conversations into separate shields. Use the messenger’s own conversation controls for that more specific distinction.

Should I block YouTube for the entire revision week?

Only if none of your planned tasks needs it. A more precise plan separates lecture watching from practice and note-making. Lesscue cannot identify educational videos inside YouTube, so decide when the whole app is needed instead of assuming a week-long block can preserve useful clips.

How do I keep a digital flashcard app available while blocking games?

Select the games individually or review a broader category carefully, then preserve the flashcard application. Test the actual deck, sync and sign-in path before the study window. The category label alone is not enough to prove that every required learning tool remains reachable.

Can Free support an exam-week routine?

Free includes one saved group, one recurring routine and unlimited focus sessions. Use the routine for the most stable study window and start manual sessions for varied tasks. Pro is useful for multiple saved patterns, but completing a substantial study plan does not inherently require a paid plan.

Will a higher completed-session count mean I learned more?

No. Completion records time and an outcome, not retention or understanding. Pair the record with something observable, such as practice questions checked or a concept explained without notes. That keeps the timer useful without turning it into a substitute for evaluating the work.

How should I change the plan the day before an exam?

Review logistics first: travel, tickets, identification, alarms and contact routes. Use shorter, clearly scoped revision periods around those needs. Do not preserve a strict study-week boundary simply because it worked earlier if the next day requires different applications and response times.

Can I automatically switch between subjects on a timetable?

The current app does not promise course-timetable import or an automatic study curriculum. Routine names and groups can help organize repeated windows, but you still choose the task. Keep a subject plan in your existing calendar or notes and review the relevant app selection before each session.

What if an unexpected reference question comes up during Locked practice?

Note the question for review after the planned end if it is not required to continue. If unexpected references regularly stop the work, use Confirm while refining the setup. Locked is most suitable when the boundaries of the task are known, not when the task is still being discovered.

How do I stop exam settings from continuing after exams finish?

Review and disable future study routines when the period ends, and remove temporary exceptions only after checking your ordinary needs. Keep past session records if they are useful. A temporary intensive schedule should end through an explicit review rather than lingering into the next week unnoticed.
