Lesscue is in development. Product-specific guidance describes the current native development build. Public App Store availability has not been announced. Website screens use illustrative data.

The practical answer

Landscape should rearrange the focus scene rather than turn it into a different workflow. Choose the Gem, color, duration, and app group before starting. During an active session, Lesscue keeps the focus context in place and makes necessary settings available without restoring the full tab navigation underneath it.

A setup to try

  1. Prepare the session in the orientation you prefer, then review the selected group, duration, and ending method. Appearance choices should be settled before the active timer begins.
  2. Rotate the phone and check the countdown, mode label, and required actions. A wider layout has less vertical room, so supporting content may need to reflow or scroll.
  3. Use the scoped settings entry for relevant controls while focus is active. Returning from that sheet should bring you back to the same session rather than to an unrelated tab.
  4. If you use larger text, inspect landscape again at that text size. A screen that fits in ordinary portrait is not proof that every horizontal accessibility layout is complete.

Does rotating my iPhone restart the current focus timer?

No. Orientation changes are presentation changes; they must not create a new session or reset the stored deadline. Read the remaining time after rotation and expect the same run. If a timer actually restarts, that is a functional issue to report, not an intended landscape behavior.

Where do I choose the Gem before a landscape focus session?

Choose the scene in focus preparation, along with the palette and timer presentation available there. The active session is intended for the timer rather than browsing a collection. Set the appearance first, then begin the same prepared session whether the phone is upright or sideways.

Why is there no Customize button over the running timer?

The active scene prioritizes the current session and necessary actions. Collection browsing and other appearance decisions belong in preparation, where they do not compete with the countdown. Removing a prominent customization entry during a run keeps the interface focused without changing your saved appearance choices.

Does a landscape timer have different app-blocking strength from portrait?

No. Protection comes from the same selected targets, captured ending policy, and Screen Time state. Orientation does not strengthen or weaken it. A visually different dial or side-by-side arrangement is an interface adaptation, not a new blocking mode or a separate subscription feature.

Can I open Home from a sideways active session using a widget link?

The active-session navigation rule also applies to supported external entry points. A widget link should return to the current focus context rather than reveal the full Home tab while the session runs. The route is a navigation request, not permission to leave or end protection.

What should a settings sheet return to while focus is running?

It should dismiss back to the same active focus scene. Necessary settings can be layered over the timer without turning the sheet into a route to unrelated tabs. This preserves context and avoids making a back button an accidental escape from the intended session workflow.

Why might the landscape result screen arrange artwork and details side by side?

A horizontal screen has width but limited height, so the completed-session layout can use that width to keep the summary and action reachable. The outcome data should remain the same. Presentation changes must not turn an early ending into the warm completion artwork reserved for normal completion.

Can a timer keep running when its decorative scene is offscreen or static?

Yes. The deadline and recorded state are independent of drawing the artwork. Lesscue pauses unnecessary decorative motion when hidden or constrained, while the actual session uses its stored timing. Do not infer that a timer stopped merely because a reflection or Gem is not animating.

Should I reduce system text size just to make landscape fit?

Do not treat smaller text as the required workaround for a core control. The interface should reflow or provide reachable scrolling at larger sizes. If an action is clipped, report the exact orientation and text setting so the layout can be fixed at the size you need.

What should I check before relying on a phone stand for a long landscape session?

Test the countdown’s readability, the essential controls, the charging setup, and the actual allowed apps you need. Start with a short Confirm run. A stand changes how you view the device, but it does not validate the selected boundary or the system’s background behavior by itself.
