The practical answer
Lesscue’s four reminders are optional, off by default, and available on both plans. A saved preference does not guarantee a banner or sound: iOS notification settings, Focus, and delivery behavior still apply. The end reminder marks the planned focus endpoint; it does not certify that every other restriction has ended.
A setup to try
- Choose the reminder you actually want: Focus end, Routine heads-up, Personal reminder, or Weekly review. Enable it deliberately and save any selected days or time.
- Review iOS authorization and the individual presentation channels. Sound, Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Scheduled Summary can differ even when notifications are generally allowed.
- Test one reminder outside an active full-screen timer. Lesscue suppresses its own foreground reminder banners while the timer is already visible, avoiding duplicate interruption.
- If a reminder opens an unexpected destination, note whether its original session or routine still exists. Notification taps use the latest state and never directly start or release protection.
Are focus-end notifications a Pro-only feature?
No. Lesscue’s reminder choices are available on both Free and Pro. They remain optional and initially off. If you want a focus-end reminder, enable that specific preference and allow the relevant iOS notification channels rather than assuming a subscription automatically turns reminders on.
Why did the session end without a sound while I was watching the timer?
Lesscue suppresses its own reminder banner and sound when the full-screen active timer is already visible. That avoids interrupting the same moment twice. Check the timer’s outcome first; silence in this foreground context is not by itself evidence that the end was missed.
Why does Allowed in notification settings not guarantee a Lock Screen alert?
Authorization and presentation channels are separate. A user can allow notifications while restricting sound, Lock Screen display, or delivery timing. Review the specific channel and any Focus or Scheduled Summary settings rather than treating one authorization label as a promise about every presentation surface.
Can a focus-end notification unlock apps when I tap it?
No. A notification tap is navigation, not a release instruction. Lesscue reads the current state and opens the relevant session or outcome when available. Any remaining routine, another blocker, or an Apple restriction must be understood separately from the reminder you tapped.
Does a Routine heads-up notification start the routine five minutes early?
No. The heads-up is a reminder before the planned start, not an early activation command. Tapping it opens the relevant routine context when that definition still exists. The routine’s actual time window remains governed by its saved schedule and the system’s monitoring behavior.
Will Routine heads-up reminders replenish forever if I never open the app?
Lesscue maintains a bounded upcoming reminder horizon and refreshes it when relevant app activity occurs. It does not promise indefinite replenishment while the app remains unopened. Reopen the app periodically and review its current schedules instead of relying on an unbounded background reminder queue.
What happens if I tap an old reminder after deleting its routine?
Lesscue checks the latest state rather than blindly opening a vanished target. It falls back to a safe screen if the routine no longer exists. The old reminder should not recreate the deleted definition, start protection, or make a claim about an outcome that was never recorded.
Can a weekly review reminder prove the last seven days are fully recorded?
No. It reminds you to review; it does not certify completeness of Apple’s report data. Check the period and supplied information after opening Insights. If the report is partial, keep that limitation visible rather than treating the reminder’s arrival as a data-quality signal.
Does Emergency access leave routine reminder settings permanently erased?
Emergency suppresses the owned reminder scheduling while protection is paused, but keeps your saved preferences for explicit resume. That separation prevents reminders from silently restarting protection. Review the pause and resume state in the app before expecting the ordinary reminder schedule to return.
Should I enable every reminder during initial setup?
Start with the one that solves a specific problem, such as remembering a planned session or reviewing a week. Each reminder has its own preference, so you can add others later. More notifications are not automatically better evidence that an app is helping you focus.
