The practical answer
Lesscue’s session records and protection configuration are local, and its Screen Time implementation does not require a Lesscue server call for every timer update. Account operations, purchase reconciliation, and optional iCloud transfers are separate network-dependent tasks. Offline use still depends on valid local state, authorization, and the operating system’s behavior.
A setup to try
- Prepare the group, essential exceptions, and duration while you can check the full setup. If Pro is relevant, confirm the locally observed entitlement before going offline.
- Run a short test on the actual device and inspect a selected app. Airplane Mode changes connectivity, not the meaning of your chosen protection method.
- Expect account requests, purchase restoration, and iCloud changes to wait or report a network issue. Preserve pending local work rather than treating an upload attempt as completion.
- After reconnecting, review sync or purchase status separately from the session result. A successful network retry should not rewrite the meaning of an early-ended or unconfirmed focus record.
Does the focus countdown need a Cloudflare request every second?
No. Lesscue stores the session timing locally and does not ask its account server for permission on each timer update. The visible countdown is separate from network authentication. A connection may still be needed for unrelated account, purchase-recovery, or optional iCloud operations.
Will Airplane Mode automatically end my selected-app boundary?
Airplane Mode is not a Lesscue early-ending command. The intended protection route uses local Apple Screen Time settings rather than a server-controlled timer. Actual enforcement still depends on the device and authorization, so validate the offline scenario on your iPhone before relying on it for a critical session.
Can I sign in with Apple for the first time while completely offline?
Initial account authentication is a network-dependent operation and should not be represented as complete without the provider exchange. That limitation is separate from local focus records. If you only need local features, do not treat an unavailable account sign-in as a reason to erase your setup.
Will optional iCloud sync discard local edits when the network disappears?
The sync design preserves local changes and its pending queue until the server confirms them. An offline state should show that work is waiting rather than label it as uploaded. Reconnect and review the status before assuming another iPhone has received the same changes.
Can a valid Pro feature use a locally verified entitlement without a fresh call?
Yes, within the known entitlement validity and local policy. The app does not need to contact Apple every time it draws a widget or checks an ordinary feature gate. It cannot, however, instantly learn about remote refunds or other changes while disconnected.
What if my known Pro entitlement expires while I remain offline?
The app must respect the validity boundary it already knows rather than treating offline status as indefinite Pro. New Pro actions and transfers are gated accordingly. A current protection run retains its captured ending policy; that is a separate rule from eligibility to start another paid-feature action.
Can Emergency access work without a notification arriving from a server?
Emergency uses the local eligibility, allowance, hold, and cleanup flow; it does not depend on a remote notification arriving first. The actual device cleanup still has to succeed. A network connection should not be confused with the app’s evidence that its owned restrictions have been removed.
Does closing the app prove the operating system stopped all monitoring?
No. App visibility and system-managed monitoring are different. Lesscue uses Apple’s monitoring mechanisms for configured windows, but callback delivery and recovery need device validation. Do not infer either complete failure or perfect reliability merely from whether the app remains onscreen.
Can I use a local timer as proof that a website is inaccessible offline?
No. An offline website can fail to load because connectivity is absent, not because a domain shield worked. To validate website blocking, test with working connectivity and the correct browser setup. Otherwise the network failure can hide a missing or unsupported protection route.
What should I check after returning from a long offline period?
Review the actual session outcome, any pending iCloud changes, and the current purchase entitlement separately. Each has its own evidence and recovery path. Do not assume that one successful reconnect means every past notification was delivered, every report is complete, or every pending change has already merged.
