Lesscue is in development. Product-specific guidance describes the current native development build. Public App Store availability has not been announced. Website screens use illustrative data.

The practical answer

A fixed weekly routine is not a rotating-roster engine. Lesscue stores repeat days and local start and end times, so changing shift patterns need deliberate review. Use manual focus sessions for irregular days, and keep recurring definitions only for the parts of your week that actually repeat.

A setup to try

  1. Separate stable windows from changing shifts; include travel, handover and essential contact needs in that review.
  2. Use a manual session for an irregular day, or update future routine definitions before the new shift pattern begins.
  3. Check the next occurrence after each roster change, especially when a shift or sleep window crosses midnight.

Can Lesscue import my rotating work roster automatically?

The current product does not promise roster import or shift-cycle synchronization. Its recurring definitions use repeat weekdays and times. Review the roster yourself and update future windows, or use manual sessions when the next shift differs from the previous week.

What is the simplest setup for a shift that changes every day?

Start a manual session only after checking the actual task, duration and essential tools for that day. Reuse an app group if the distractions stay the same. This avoids pretending that one fixed weekday routine represents a schedule that has no stable weekly pattern.

How do I represent a night shift that ends the following morning?

Use a window with a next-day end and select the day on which the shift begins. Review the displayed interval before enabling it. Keep handover, transport and contact applications available so an overnight boundary does not accidentally cover resources you need at the end of work.

Should I keep several shift templates with Pro?

Pro can save multiple routine definitions, which may help when a small set of patterns repeats. Name each clearly and enable only the intended future pattern. Multiple saved definitions are not an automatic rotating calendar, and overlapping enabled templates can create protection you did not intend.

Can I use one Free routine for a changing roster?

Yes, if you deliberately edit its future repeat days and times when the pattern changes. Keep the definition simple and check the next start after saving. Use manual sessions for exceptions rather than assuming one routine can express several different daily windows at once.

What if a shift is extended while a Locked session is running?

The active session keeps its original end rather than extending itself to match a work event. Plan another reviewed session if needed after it finishes. Lesscue does not read your workplace schedule or infer that a shift extension should automatically prolong current protection.

Should I block my work messenger during an off-duty boundary?

That depends on your actual availability obligations. Preserve an agreed urgent contact route if one is required, and handle notification expectations separately. An app boundary should follow a clear work arrangement; it cannot decide whether a particular message is a routine update or an urgent request.

How do I stop an old shift template from starting next week?

Review and turn off the future definition before its next start. If a current occurrence exists, handle that separately under its ending policy. The important distinction is stopping future repetitions versus ending a boundary that has already begun.

Can Lesscue determine when I am asleep after a night shift?

No. A scheduled app boundary does not measure sleep or infer it from an unusual time window. Use the routine to make selected apps unavailable when you intend to rest, and evaluate sleep-related questions with appropriate tools rather than the presence of a shield.

What should I review first when moving from nights back to days?

Review repeat days, next-day ends, travel tools and the next displayed occurrence. Then check any separate personal reminders, since a suitable work boundary does not automatically imply suitable reminder timing. A short review of both prevents an old night pattern from remaining in place unnoticed.
