The practical answer
A weekend pattern should be an explicit choice, not an accidental extension of the workweek. Review the repeat days on each routine and the day on which overnight windows begin. Pro can keep separate definitions; Free can combine one recurring window with manual sessions for occasional weekend tasks.
A setup to try
- Choose which parts of the weekday boundary still make sense on Saturday and Sunday.
- Separate weekend definitions where needed, or keep weekend time manual if it changes frequently.
- Read the next occurrence and check Friday-night windows before assuming Saturday morning is outside protection.
How do I stop a weekday routine from starting on Saturday?
Open its repeat-day selection and keep only the intended weekdays before the next start. Then inspect the next occurrence. Also check whether a Friday-night routine continues into Saturday morning, because that is different from a new Saturday occurrence starting.
Can I make Sunday evening stricter than Saturday afternoon?
With Pro, separate routine definitions can have different times, app groups and ending modes. Give each a purpose-based name and review it independently. A strict Sunday preparation window should not require making the whole weekend unavailable or copying a weekday schedule without thought.
What should Free users do when weekends vary?
Use the saved routine for the stable part of the week and start manual sessions for the occasional weekend task. Free sessions are not limited by a daily session count. Check the group and duration each time instead of maintaining a routine that rarely matches your plans.
Will an off weekend automatically skip all future weekend occurrences?
Only the settings you actually save determine future starts. A one-time early ending does not necessarily mean that the recurring definition is disabled forever. After changing weekend plans, review whether you ended the current occurrence or changed the repeat schedule for future weeks.
How do I leave Saturday open but protect Friday night?
Use Friday as the start day for an overnight window and set an end that fits Saturday morning. Do not add Saturday as a start day unless you also want a Saturday-night occurrence. The next-day label helps distinguish those two different intentions.
Should family time use the same group as work?
Only if the same applications are optional in both settings. A family outing may need maps, photos and messages that a desk-work session does not. Review the actual use case before reusing the group; the convenience of reuse should not remove tools that make the day work.
Can I keep a weekend routine saved but not enabled?
A saved definition can be kept off for future starts, subject to your plan’s saved-definition limits. That lets you review it before a later weekend. Do not read the presence of a card as proof that protection is currently active; use the state and next-start information.
What is a reasonable weekend review question?
Ask whether the boundary helped you do the specific thing you planned, such as finishing a project or being present for a meal. Avoid treating a lower screen-time number as an automatic success when the phone was also needed for travel, photos or meaningful contact.
How should I handle a public holiday that falls on a weekday?
Review the next start before the holiday and change future settings if the usual workday window does not fit. Lesscue does not promise automatic public-holiday calendars. For a one-off task that day, a manually reviewed session may be simpler than changing the entire weekly pattern.
Can I share the same weekend boundary with my partner’s phone?
Your Lesscue configuration does not remotely impose a boundary on another person’s device. Agree on the shared plan separately and let each person configure their own access needs. An iPhone-only personal app should not be presented as a household device-management system.
