The practical answer

A Lesscue focus session records a timed period and its outcome; it is not an invoice, attendance record or proof of billable work. Decide the client task before starting, keep necessary tools available, and compare the session with the actual output. Any hypothetical time-value calculation remains separate from money you earned.

A setup to try

  1. Write the deliverable for the session and identify the client communication, documents and authentication tools it requires.
  2. Set aside optional apps for that work period, using an ending mode that matches your response commitments.
  3. Afterwards, record billable time in your normal system and compare the focus record with the work actually completed.

Can I invoice a client for every completed Lesscue focus minute?

A completed timer is not evidence that every minute was billable under your agreement. Keep the task and billing rules in your normal timekeeping system. Lesscue can provide context about a session, but it does not certify work performed, client approval or invoice eligibility.

Does an estimated dollar value in Insights mean I earned that money?

No. A time-value illustration is hypothetical, based on an assumption such as an hourly rate. It is not payment, revenue or a claim that saved time became paid work. Compare actual income and completed deliverables separately from any motivational conversion.

How do I keep client messages available without leaving all social apps open?

Preserve the application or contact route the client expects, and select unrelated feeds or entertainment apps. If client messages share an app with distractions, Lesscue cannot separate those internal features. Choose a response window or another agreed channel rather than assuming an inbox-only shield exists.

Should I use one app group for every client project?

Reuse one group when the required tools and distractions are stable. With Pro, separate groups may help when one project needs a browser service that another does not. The useful distinction is the workflow, not creating a new group merely because the client name changed.

Can I run a focus timer during a paid client call?

You can record a planned focus period while preserving the calling and note tools, but the timer does not verify attendance or billing eligibility. Decide whether recording that period helps your own review. Use the client’s agreed process for work records and invoices.

What if a client needs an immediate response during Locked?

Plan that responsibility before starting. Keep the agreed contact route available, or choose Confirm when the necessary tools are unpredictable. Locked does not create a client-specific ordinary exception, and limited Emergency access should not be the routine response plan for expected work communication.

How can I compare two weeks without confusing more timers with more output?

Use comparable tasks and note the deliverables completed, interruptions and changes in workload. Session totals are one part of that review. A week with more recorded time may involve harder work, more meetings or less effective execution, so avoid ranking it by minutes alone.

Can Lesscue automatically tag a session with the client whose app I used?

The current product does not promise automatic client or project classification from app usage. Keep that context in your own work system. Do not infer that a session attached to a general app group knows which document, customer or project occupied the period.

How do I protect proposal writing without blocking the research it needs?

Gather the initial requirements, preserve the reference tools and select the optional distraction routes. If the research is unpredictable, use Confirm and a specific output such as one proposal section. A blanket browser block is not helpful when the browser is also the main tool for the job.

What is a useful end-of-day review for freelance focus?

Compare the tasks you planned with the outputs delivered, then inspect which sessions supported them and where access was poorly chosen. Keep financial conclusions tied to actual invoices or payments. Use that review to adjust tomorrow’s group and time windows rather than chasing a larger timer total.
