The practical answer

Canceling renewal and deleting data are different decisions. Apple manages the subscription; Lesscue keeps local records separately. A subscription with renewal turned off can remain valid until its paid-through endpoint. Review that date, then decide independently whether to keep local history, pause optional sync, or delete an account.

A setup to try

  1. Open Apple’s subscription management and find the actual Lesscue subscription when one exists. Review its renewal or expiration date rather than guessing from an app icon or account status.
  2. After changing renewal, return to Lesscue to inspect the observed entitlement. Turning renewal off should not be represented as an immediate loss of an otherwise valid paid period.
  3. Review features that need ongoing Pro, including new Locked starts, iCloud transfers, and personal widget or Live Activity surfaces. Keep local records separate from those feature gates.
  4. Use explicit data controls only if you also intend to erase information. App deletion and account deletion should not stand in for a confirmed Apple subscription change.

If I turn off renewal today, do Pro features disappear immediately?

Not simply because renewal is off. A verified subscription can remain valid until its paid-through endpoint, and Lesscue distinguishes that state from expiration. Check the date Apple shows and the app’s observed entitlement rather than interpreting renewal-off as an instant switch to Free.

Does deleting the iPhone app stop Apple from renewing the subscription?

No. Manage the subscription through Apple rather than relying on app deletion. Deleting the app can remove local records while leaving billing as a separate issue. Confirm the actual subscription status before removing the app if your goal is to stop future renewal.

Will my local focus history be erased when Pro expires?

Pro expiration is not a request to delete local personal records. The records already on the iPhone remain separate from paid-feature eligibility. You may lose access to new Pro actions or sync transfers, but that should not be presented as automatic erasure of your history.

Can I still use ordinary focus sessions after the paid period ends?

The Free scope includes unlimited focus sessions with Confirm to end, subject to the Free group and routine limits. Expiration should not turn the entire app into a blank paywall. Review which saved definitions are eligible before starting, rather than assuming every Pro configuration remains available unchanged.

What happens to iCloud sync after Pro actually expires?

New uploads and downloads stop when the active entitlement is no longer valid. Local records remain, and deleting existing cloud data is a separate supported control. The app should not silently keep transferring personal records on the theory that you once subscribed.

If I request a refund, does merely submitting the request revoke Pro?

A request and an observed entitlement change are different events. Lesscue follows verified Apple state rather than guessing the outcome of a request. Review Apple’s response and the current entitlement; do not treat a support form submission as proof of either continued access or an immediate refund.

Can an offline iPhone know about a remote refund instantly?

No. A device cannot instantly observe every remote transaction change while disconnected. Lesscue uses its locally verified entitlement and known validity boundaries, then reconciles new Apple information when available. That limitation is different from sending a fresh purchase API request whenever a screen is drawn.

Does canceling renewal also delete my optional iCloud copies?

No. Subscription renewal, synchronization eligibility, and cloud-data deletion are separate controls. If you want the cloud copies removed, use the explicit deletion flow and wait for confirmation. An expired subscription alone should not be interpreted as proof that previously synced records were erased.

Should I clear my records before using Apple’s cancellation control?

There is no need to delete useful history merely to manage renewal. Decide what you want to keep first, then change the Apple subscription separately. Only use local or cloud deletion controls if removing those records is also part of your intended outcome.

What date should I use when planning a final Pro session?

Use the current paid-through information supplied by Apple and observed in the app, not the day you pressed cancel renewal. A started run retains its captured protection policy, while eligibility for new Pro actions is checked separately. Keep those two timing questions distinct.
