The practical answer

If you switch from the Reddit app to a browser after setting a boundary, include both routes in your plan. Lesscue treats an application and a website as separate choices. Keep useful research tools available, and test the selected browser route before relying on a long Locked session.

A setup to try

  1. Check whether your usual Reddit entry point is the app, a saved browser tab, a search result or an in-app link.
  2. Select the Reddit app and the relevant website where supported, while preserving the browser if your task needs other sites.
  3. Try the actual route in a short Confirm session; record which route remains available before changing the setup.

Why can I still open Reddit in Safari after blocking its app?

An app selection and a website selection are different policies. Check whether the relevant Reddit website is included in the chosen group, not just the application. Also review the active session’s saved selection; changing a group for future use does not silently replace a running boundary.

Can I block Reddit’s website but keep Safari for research?

Yes, the intended setup is a website-specific boundary rather than selecting Safari as a whole application. Choose the domain through Apple’s picker and keep the browser available for your research. Then test the particular site and browser combination instead of assuming every browsing surface behaves identically.

Does Always Allowed Safari undo the selected Reddit website block?

Lesscue treats an allowed browser application separately from a selected website restriction. Allowing the browser does not intentionally exempt all domains inside it. That separation lets you preserve a research tool while setting a boundary around a particular site in supported browsing conditions.

Will one Reddit selection cover every link, mirror and embedded browser?

Do not assume universal coverage. App tokens, domain choices, redirects and webview behavior are different parts of the route. Start from the links you actually use and verify them, rather than interpreting a single selection as a network-wide filter for every possible Reddit-related address.

What is the fallback if my older iPhone’s Chrome website route is unsupported?

Select the Chrome application if you can work without that browser during the period, or use a supported website route after checking the app’s compatibility guidance. An app-level Chrome boundary is broader than a Reddit-only boundary, so preserve another tool for required research first.

Can Lesscue block only a distracting subreddit?

The current product does not offer subreddit-level content rules. Do not assume a website selection can preserve one path while blocking another. If Reddit is necessary for a specific question, gather the relevant material before starting a separate writing or implementation session.

How can I use a Reddit troubleshooting answer without entering a browsing session?

Write the technical question first, open the specific answer, and extract the steps you need into your working notes. Then begin the task period with Reddit unavailable. This separates reference gathering from execution rather than asking an app boundary to judge individual posts.

Can a Reddit search result bypass a boundary?

A search result is an entry route, not proof that the destination is allowed. Test what happens after opening the link in the browser you use. If it opens another app or an embedded view, inspect that path separately rather than treating the visible search page as the whole interaction.

Should I block all browsers if I keep finding another route?

Only if the task can genuinely proceed without them. Start by listing essential sites and tools, because a blanket browser boundary may remove your work resources too. A shorter Confirm session or a prepared offline task can be more workable than expanding a block without understanding the tradeoff.

What should I write down when a website boundary behaves unexpectedly?

Note the iOS version, browser, selected app or website, and the exact action that opened the destination. Keep private browsing details out of public reports. Those concrete conditions are more useful for diagnosis than saying that all blocking is broken or that one successful test covers every browser.
